Reflecting on the Space Shuttle

The space shuttle Atlantis’ landing this past Thursday was the end of an era of U.S. space exploration.

Lawrence Krauss contends that the space shuttle was a dud and that we can do better in space exploration. Former shuttle program manager Wayne Hale disagrees and believes that the shuttle program was worthwhile.

Meanwhile, Neil deGrasse Tyson asserts in the video below that the space shuttle program was never really about the promotion of science in the first place.

  1. Mr. Tyson is correct, as far as he goes, and I suspect he knows full well that the Apollo Moon Hoax
was a PR stunt and cover for funding programs whose purpose was the militarization of space. Of course
the faked moon landings also diverted the public’s attention away from the terrible U.S. destruction in
SE Asia, and the deaths of 100s of thousands of civilians there. The billions spent on the faked
moon landings may well have been the largest
corporate welfare scheme of the past 60 years.
