Jane Fonda, global warmer

jane_fonda_1.jpgFreakonomics authors Stephen J. Dubner and Steven D. Levitt discover the not insubstantial impact that actress Jane Fonda has had on the United States’ continued reliance on coal and other fossil fuels rather than clean and cheap nuclear energy.
Of course, Larry Ribstein has been writing about this phenomenom for years.

  1. Hi Tom:
Although I share your view on the current climate of business bashing, particularly regarding the Skilling-Lay affair, I am after all a folk musician–a child of Woody (Guthrie, that is, not Williams…) who remains somewhat skeptical of the motives and virtues of both Big Business and Hollywood (the latter being one of the former). I think you ought to take a look back at the second comment on Prof Ribstein’s blog post on this topic, before you give old Jane too much credit: http://petersmagnusson.com/2007/09/16/blaming-jane-fonda-for-global-warming-doesnt-help/
