Tom, she really does nail it. Interestingly, she inserts one verse (“Teardrops fell on momma’s note…”)from Bobby Bare’s country version. I have never seen the folk and country versions mixed like that. Bare reportedly heard PP&M’s version on the radio and could not remember all the lyrics so sat down in a hotel room and wrote his own.
