The University of Nebraska football team has not been fairing well lately in its football rivalry with the University of Oklahoma. So, last year, a Nebraska lineman got confused and thought that NU was going to play the OU Spirit Squad instead. Oklahoma criminal authorities are not pleased (bugmenot login: “privatecitizen@msn.com”; password: “password”).
Nebraska under the current AD has fallen far from the classy status it once enjoyed.
Bill Callahan’s comments about the OU gameday situation and his comments specifically about this matter ever since were classless and clueless.
Maybe Callahan will get it turned around, but I can’t help but think Callahan and the AD who hired him won’t be around in four years. What do you think?
I’m not close enough to the Nebraska program to know how Callahan is doing. However, my sense is that he has to show dramatic improvement both this coming season and the following season. If not, then I agree that the pressure will become huge to replace him. If the AD has tied his anchor to Callahan’s ship, then he should be worried about his job, too.
Good thing for Callahan that Nebraska is in the Big 12 North rather than the South. ;^)
