Good advice overall, but I think the Mozilla folks are on to something when they suggest you can avoid some problems simply by using a browser not subject to IE’s many vulnerabilities. I highly recommend their new Firefox. 🙂
Problem is most apps on IIS web servers utilize software embedded in Internet Explorer and can (and will) cause problems with serlets or other client side apps depending on the intregration of the site when using 3rd party browsers.
I have used just about every browser imaginable and found problems with all of them, mostly on the rate of updating modified web server software and the reliabilty and speed of those updates on the client side. Then again, IE is far from perfect either.

Kevin, I agree. Everyone that I know who has switched browsers from Explorer to Firefox has been glad they made the change.
