Oh great!
The chronically-troubled airline industry is a common topic on this blog, as is the generally abysmal state of air travel. For good measure, this post by a former air traffic controller explains how air travel isn't particularly safe, either.
Just what I needed to know.

The air traffic system is much safer than a Houston freeway during rush hour. Or the streets around the Danger Train. :)

The foreman of the Federal GJ I was on for 18 months was a controller, one of the PATCO gang that RR fired. He went back to it, later.
He NEVER flew anywhere.
