Well, at least it's warmer in Honolulu

Glanville_Jerry2.jpgAfter losing out on the Northern State University job in South Dakota, former Oilers coach Jerry Glanville has resurfaced in Hawaii.

Tom, are you a fan of this guy? I'm not. I take solace in him bouncing around from nowhere U to almost nowhere U since he does nothing to players' minds except foster a me-first strutting preening thug style. plus he never one diddly-squat. Oh well...if you can't be right, be loud.

Jay, Glanville is a fascinating example of the Peter Principle in football coaching -- a reasonably competent assistant coach who kept being promoted until he was an utterly incompetent head coach. What always amazed me about the guy was that he was actually hired AGAIN as a head coach after his stint with the Oilers. With the exception of Bum Phillips and Sid Gillman, once Bud Adams fires a head coach, that should be that coach's final head coaching job.
