Jenkens & Gilchrist ups settlement offer

The cost of Dallas-based law firm Jenkens & Gilchrest's legal problems resulting from its involvement in advising clients on tax shelters rose considerably yesterday. The the Dallas Morning News is reporting that the firm has increased its offer to a class of former clients to $85 million to settle a lawsuit over the firm's involvement in the matter.
